Hey there! I’m Emily.

I’m a born-and-raised Texas wife, mother, multi-talented entrepreneur, and an overall good time, dedicated to making your life easier.

Where do we even begin?  I’ll let you choose. 

I’m a multi-passionate entrepreneur who isn’t willing to lock myself down to just one talent.

MY JOURNEY

2003 – 2024

Becoming a talented entrepreneur took me many years of hard work.
Here’s the timeline!
2003
Graduated from Richardson High School and headed to Texas A&M University.
Studied Business with a focus in Marketing.
Held multiple internships to gain experience in video production, advertising and retail management.
2007

Graduated from Texas A&M and took off to London with a student work visa.


Worked for CBS Outdoor Advertising on the Production Team, managing advertisements going up on the double-decker buses and subway.


Communicated daily with the sales teams, creative team, printers and clients to make sure deadlines were met.

2008

Moved back to Texas and accepted a Marketing Director and Sales Consultant position at DoorKing of Texas.


Managed the website, advertising, email campaigns, tradeshows and company events.


Sold access control solutions, automated gates and CCTV.


Only one Sales Consultant has ever out-sold me at DKTX, and she’s owned the company for over 40 years.

2009

Started working towards my Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.


Studied Business with a focus in International Marketing.


Elected as Social Chair and organized off-campus events for our graduating class.

2010

Interned with Baylor Health on their Branding Team.


Created and presented a Marketing Plan for Baylor Plaza Hotel.


Assisted the Brand Team with the 2010 Video and Photo Shoot.


Studied Baylor’s marketing database to derive information on the highest-earning service lines to provide insight into which markets to increase marketing efforts.

2011

Graduated with my MBA and joined the Panel Marketing and CRM Team at Research Now.


Spent 8 years managing membership programs worldwide for companies like American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Hilton Hotels, and MTV.


Managed all brand touches for RN panelists, including websites, social media, phone apps, surveys, direct mail, and email life-cycle programs.

2015

Started Emily à La Carte as a side hustle, offering a la carte marketing services.


Helped many start-ups and small businesses launch new websites and strengthen their marketing collateral.


Was ready to take the company full-time after my first baby, but ultimately shut it down after being given the rare opportunity to stay a manager at RN and work part-time.

2018

While running my side hustle, I managed the rebrand of DoorKing of Texas to DKTX.


After my second baby, I went back to DoorKing of Texas as Sales Manager.


Spent 3 years managing the Sales Team and was promoted to Operations and Sales Manager.


Managed the Sales, Installation, and Service Teams, plus all sub-contractors included in our sold projects.


While managing, I remained the top earning sales consultant in my last 6 years of service.

2024

Emily à La Carte is back and better than ever! 


While all my schooling focused on business management and marketing, I have picked up all kinds of other fun skills throughout 20+ years of work experience.

I was born into business.

I was born shortly after my parents started our family business in our home garage. I spent a lot of time watching my parents work hard and as soon as I discovered the value of money, I was always looking for ways to pick up the slack and earn a quick buck.
